2025 Special Project:
Owen’s Family Home
Post-Project Update
We met Owen in 2018, when a CSI team went to Belize to work on Unity Church. Owen has been associated with Unity Church ever since that initial meeting, including becoming its caretaker and participating in the ministry outreach program for pastors in Belize. He’s a great man for whom we care deeply!
One year ago, Kip and Owen sat in the CSI van with tears running down their faces, praying that God would send a team and provide the funds to rebuild Owen’s family home.
The house was sinking into the swamp and was no longer safe. Owen and his three children desperately needed a new place to live.
Now, one year later, as they gathered to dedicate the new home, their tears were different, tears of joy. Their safe haven had been restored.
Through sweltering heat, with a heat index over 100 degrees, God sustained the team each day of the two-week project. What they built was more than a house; it was a labor of love.
Kip said, “I can’t thank everyone enough who helped support this project and who were a part of the team that came and worked with us. The only thing I can say is if you’re faithful to pray, God does answer your prayers.”
We are deeply grateful for the many generous and hardworking people God used to answer prayers for our dear friend and his family. Thank you for being part of His work in Belize!
Western Paradise Village and First Stone Church of Western Paradise
CSI has been serving in Belize since 2002 and in the Western Paradise area since 2006. Initially, we worked with the Village Council developing a community park with a basketball court and soccer field plus some play areas. Later, we joined other community partners to build First Stone Church. As we wrap up the finishing touches to the church, we look forward to helping the congregation of First Stone Church start a preschool in the lower level of their building. Currently, there is no school in that community. It is exciting to see First Stone Church making a difference, spiritually, educationally and so much more, in the lives of the families in Western Paradise!
Unity School
In Belize City's impoverished community called "The Burial Grounds" CSI partnered several years ago with the Presbyterian Church helping them fulfill the vision of starting a preschool in the back of their church. Today, Unity School has evolved into a separate two-story building with over 250 students in grades K-6th. Ongoing, we assist Unity School's staff and students with various projects as they have need. From maintenance to construction (we recently added more bathrooms and updated their water system), providing teachers supplies or tutoring students we will continue helping Unity Presbyterian School and Church fulfill their mission. Stella Maris School
CSI has also formed a partnership with Stella Maris School also located in Belize City. Stella Maris serves children ranging from ages four through eighteen years of age who are living with disabilities. We have assisted with facility upkeep, adding sidewalks to assist those with mobility difficulties, classroom assistance and training. We look forward to helping however we can so they may most effectively serve their unique student population.

With great anticipation we are praying for significant impact through our pastor and leadership conferences. Spearheaded by a church in Indiana and hosted by Eagle's Nest Church of Belize City, several leaders of churches across Belize will be gathering twice a year to study and discuss scripture while encouraging one another and praying for all Belizean churches to reach more people for Christ.
